It All Comes Out

Wait a second! Did you read ‘What A Mess’?

Dani pulled the bedroom door shut and made her way out onto the patio before answering her father’s call.

“Hey, dad.” She said as she looked out at the city skyline.

“Hey, where are ya? The game is about to start!” Jackson yelled over the hoots and hollers in the background.

Shit, pulling her phone from her ear she checked the date. The 8th of September, fuck, she was supposed to be at her parent’s house for the game. If there was one thing her father and police family loved more than their jobs, it was sports.

When Jackson became captain, the first thing he did was start putting money aside to build a home theater. Dani’s mom loved it cause for most of the year they’d host movie nights, complete with buttery popcorn and a soda drink machine. Then, when football season rolled around, every Sunday, after getting off of work, the whole squad would pile into one or two cars and head to Jackson’s.

Fuck, this whole ‘never lying to the ones she loved’ thing was getting harder and harder by the day. Dani really needed to figure out what the fuck she was gonna do about Paula. Dani couldn’t continue lying to her father, if he ever found out about this on his own it’d destroy him. But what was she gonna do, walk into his office and be all; ‘hey dad, I think I’m falling for one of the US’s biggest criminals’? That would be fucking ridiculous.

“Eh, I’m kinda not really in the mood to leave the house.” She said.

That wasn’t a complete lie. While she loved her parents and most of her co-workers, Dani was an only child, and that meant she enjoyed her alone time.

“Alrighty then. Well you know these get together’s run pretty long so if you change your mind just come on over.” He said.

In the background, Dani could hear cheers from her co-workers and her mom’s usual ‘woo-hoo, sports ball!’, the only thing she ever really said during the games.

Chuckling, Dani said goodbye to her father.

After ending the call, she made her way back into the house to find Paula bent over, her ass peeking out from underneath her borrowed shirt, as she rummaged through the fridge.

Crossing her arms over her chest, Dani leaned against the kitchen doorframe and shamelessly stared at Paula’s ass.

“I see you’ve made yourself right at home.” Dani chuckled as Paula stood up straight, her arms filled with supplies to make breakfast.

“Hungry?” Paula asked sheepishly.

Shaking her head Dani chuckled before entering the kitchen.

With the ingredients for French toast laid out on the counter, Paula got to work.

“How the fuck is it that I don’t know shit about you, yet you feel so familar?” Paula asked suddenly as she turned on the stove.

Dani pondered the question for a moment. Come to think of it, this was pretty good. From their hookup in the bathroom to their run-in at Mr. Young’s and their park date, nothing about them was conventional.

‘But then again, none of this is real.’ Dani thought to herself.

“I don’t know. Not to sound cheesy or anything but there’s this flow of electricity between us. Almost magnetic in away.” Dani said.

Paula looked at her for a moment, blinking a few times before laughing.

“You’re right, that is fucking cheesy.” Paula laughed.

Dani swiped the towel from the oven handle and wined it up.

“Don’t you fucking dare!” Paula said, launching forward and grabbing Dani’s forearms.

The women struggled, Dani trying to break free from Paula’s grasp, and Paula trying to take the towel from Dani. Eventually, Paula ended up with her back pressed against Dani’s front as Dani wrapped Paula in her arms.

Hugging her close, Dani buried her face in Paula’s neck where she licked a line from the base of Paula’s neck, all the way up to her ear.

“Stop fucking around, you’re gonna make me burn the food.” Paula said, shrugging Dani off of her.

Dani laughed and swatted Paula’s ass, earning a yelp from her.

Yeah, she was definitely in deep.

After plating their food, the women made their way to the couch where they sat and ate.

Side by side, the women filled their mouths and washed their food down with orange juice before lying back on the couch and falling into easy conversation.

After about an hour and a half of coming out stories, horror stories about being closeted in high school, and some of college in Dani’s case, Paula’s phone began to buzz like crazy.

Reaching over, Paula grabbed the device, unlocking it as she laughed at the stupidity of a joke Dani had just made. Then, in record-breaking time, Paula went from smiles and light chuckling to downright confused.

“What the fuck?” She said, staring at her screen.

“What is it?” Dani asked, taking a sip of her orange juice.

Paula seemed to be scrolling, her eyes scanning her screen. A moment later, her eyes flicked up to meet Dani’s, the blaze of a thousand fucking suns, burning in Paula’s eyes.

“You fucking played me!” Paula yelled, jumping up from the couch as if it’d just burned her.

Dani’s blood ran cold, her heart nearly stopping dead in her chest.

“What?” She asked.

Paula rushed to the bedroom, causing Dani to jump up from the couch.

“Paula wait!” Dani yelled running after her.

“Fuck you!” Paula yelled, slamming the bathroom door.

Dani grabbed the knob, trying to open it before Paula could lock it, but she was too late. Fuck!

Oh shit! Dani’s been found out! But Paula’s still in the house. How do you think this will all play out? Will Dani get the chance to explain? Will Paula believe her? Find out in the next installment.

I once told my mom I wanted to be God.... she wasn’t happy about that. I don’t think God was either, cause I got electrocuted a few hours later. Coincidence? I think not. So I gave that up on that dream and decided to go with a much safer career path... Being a writer. I build worlds, put people in those worlds, and most importantly, I tell stories of the LGBTQIA+ community.
